I use Avast antivirus (Home edition) for quite a while now and never had any problems with it. Until the latest update of the virus definitions.
Every site or even page I go to, according to Avast, contains the SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784 Worm. I get a msgbox and all I can do after that is click the end connection button. (Might not be called that way, but I have a Dutch translation of the program)
After doing a refresh of the page, I can usually continue surfing, but as you can probably imagine this is quite annoying. This occurs with both Internet Explorer & Firefox.
This is some of the other info from the msgbox: Malware Name: SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784 Worm Malware Type: Virus/Worm VPS Version: 0537-1, 14-09-2005
Like I said, this only occurs since yesterday, when I did my last (Auto) update. So maybe there’s an error in the virus definitions?
Maybe they’re false positives, maybe not…
Can you scan your system with antispywares and antitrojans applications to test?
Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, A-squared, Ewido or Microsoft AntiSpyware (freewares).
TrojanHunter or TDS-3 (sharewares but allow trial period).
Okay, so I see that a lot of people were having this problem in September. Three months later I’m encountering it for the first time. SDFE-ZhugeLiang-4784 absolutely everywhere. First turned up when I tried to open an email in my Gmail inbox, but then at ucomics.com and the avast site, and all over. Last time it just fixed itself? And what is it btw?
