For some reason, my default search engine randomly switched to startpage instead of bing which is my default search engine, I’ve seen that startpage is a legit search engine, and malwarebytes didn’t pick up any viruses. Am I in danger?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Whilst You don’t say what your browser is I would hazard a guess it is Edge given Bing is a MS search engine.
I rather doubt you are actually in danger.
Most browsers have a Settings functions option, usually accessed using the three dots — or three bars menu option, where amongst other things you should be able to change your default search engine.
I use Firefox and it has a number of options for the search engine and the ability to add others.
