searchomepage virus

Hello,

I have Avast Premier. Although I had clearly visible the searchomepage instead of my Google startpage on the screen, Avast told me that my laptop was completely virusfree. Several other anti virus programs I used detected the virus and I had to bye them to be able to remove it. But I had payed already for Avast that apperently is not able to kill the virus. Anybody there with the solution and/or similar experience?

searchomepage is not a virus, it is a browser hijacker, avast may detect it if PUP detection is turned ON

No security programs have 100% detection or zero false positives, malware are constantly updated/changed to avoid detection

AdwCleaner may remove it, if not follow guide Eddy linked to and you will get help
