Since installing the new free version, Outlook has started putting a second email in the outbox, with no “To” (Unless it’s one that has a name attached - eg. Ian Shere [ian@citruskiwi.com]), no subject and no body. It, obviously, won’t send, but the outbox gets filled up with them.
I have checked that it really is Avast by disabling Outbound Email Scanning and it doesn’t happen.
I am experiencing the same issue on a registered Internet Security version 7.0.1426. I was also able to confirm this behaivor by disabling the e-mail scanning.
To clarify, I write and send an e-mail, it sends fine, however for each message sent, a second “blank” e-mail remains in the outbox
And yet still no word on a solution or if Avast are planning to solve this. Please could someone let us know if anything is going to be done or should we look for a new AV package?
FWIW, I opened a support incident and was told to unistall / reinstall the product. I have not yet done this and find it an dissapointing, if not unacceptable response.
What a hassel to have to deal with licenses etc through the process of uninstall / reinstall.
I just want to confirm that I did have an issue with duplicates and in the post prior to mine a fix was suggested in the mail shield settings (by jfinlay), which I tried and voila…no more duplicates.
Maybe this simple suggestion will work for folks with same issue I had. Rather then Re-istall :-
