I was fighting to keep this computer up last March and ended up with black screen with cursor. I tried several times to start system, each time with same result. The computer sat since and the battery was 0%. I plugged it in and it started up normally, after several hours it froze up with FireFox but I was able to load/update and MBAM and Avast and several others from your site. I had to restart. It again restarted and froze up in a shorter time period but I was able to uninstall most of the not needed programs. The third time I got up and downloaded the OTLPENet and AVG Rescue CD and burn it to disk, verified. System started doing crazy things like WiFi turning on and off, volume mixer popping up and adjusting itself every few seconds, etc. I shut it down and used the OTLPENet to boot, got log attached as per site. Computer is currently on OTLPENet.
Forgot: Win 7 Ultimate, unsure of bit.
There is no apparent malware there, the problem sounds suspiciously like heat/battery
Does the base of the laptop get hot ?
