Secunia Software Inspector and Adobe Flash Player Problem

Realize this is probably better directed to ADOBE or Secunia but thought there might be a quick suggestion here.

I was trying to determine why my internet download speed was slow (turns out its the Avast Web Shield) and ran the Secunia Software Inspector. It found that my ADOBE Flash Player was (supposedly) back level (Version 7.x) and their ‘download’ link pointed me to the newest version. I downloaded and installed - it said install was successful. Ran Secunia again and got the exact same thing. Tried 4 times uninstalling/downloading from various sites/reinstalling … always the same result from Secunia.

Any suggestion ?

There may be some programs that have older versions of flash tied into their directories (either for individual program use or installer). Also, when you uninstalled, you should use the separate uninstaller as well within an administrator account… http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=1

Try rebooting your system and running the Secunia scan again.

Uncheck the option to only show those that fail, that may show that you have two versions installed as is being suggested.
