Secure connection failed

I just started the free trial for avast VPN, for PC, Windows 7.
I tried to access a website with an “https” address, but I got the message secure connection failed. It is a legit site of an e-shop that I use frequently.

The solution proposed at https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/189/ didn’t work.

Switching of the web shield didn’t work either.
In fact the web shield is not a problem at all. The only thing that works is switching off Avast-VPN. But then my bank details will not be protected while I am buying something from that site and then what’s the point of having it if you can’t use it for one of the most important needs?

Any ideas?

Can you send me the website address and VPN location used via PM, please?

I contacted the company and they told me that for security reasons they don’t allow connections that are from IP address ranges from known server providers, since they cannot distinguish between a client using VPN and a bot.

So it is a matter of that specific site.
