Secure DNS can't run on this network?!

I was having the same issues with the Avast server being down (thanks for fixing it) but now the GUI main screen states “Secure DNS can’t run on this network” Never had this show before. How do I fix it? I have a paid Avast Premier subscription. Thanks!

UPDATE: saw another post with the same problem and the suggestion was to run Repair. I did and I still am unable to use Secure DNS.

Does “this network” mean the avast network or my own?

I’ve noticed over the last week or so a problem with loading some websites … not sure if this is related or not.

Thanks for any help!

Hopefully Avast isn’t hijacking our DNS without our knowledge…

don’t think that’s the case… may be a result of their server going down? hope to get it solved soon!

erl.

Having the exact same error message today. If I disable Secure DNS within Avast, I get the error message that “some of your real-time shields are turned off” which is annoying, but turning it back on, I get the Secure DNS error. Odd…

Hello.
If you look at the other thread about this problem you will see a post by some at the Avast team who says that they had problems with their secure DNS server but that would have been solved. But unfortunally the message “secure DNS server can´t run on your network” is still there. I asked for a reply how to get rid of it. Hopefullly they will present a solution but I wouldn´t count on it. It´s all the same very frustrating because it makes me wonder if i´m fully protected despite the fact that it shows all green and says all sheilds are on and everything is updated.

I am also getting this message as of today and never before on a paid subscription. Until advised otherwise, I’ll just ignore it. The message is annoying but apparently nothing for us to worry about.
