Happen after an update, the correct folder appears to be C:\Program Files\avast software\SecureLine\vpn.exe. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still the same error. Any help would be appreciated.

David

Oh and i did try moving the vpn.exe but it’s not allowing me to.

Hi david1848,

Welcome.

Questions below are from Uberevangelist Asyn:

  • Which version of Avast VPN…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

If you can answer we’ll be better able to help. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, details below.

Avast SecureLine VPN 5.0.407
Windows 10 Home 64bit 1803 (Build 17134.407)
Have Malwarebytes installed & Super anti-Spyware but both are set to maunal run and not running on startup.
Using Avast AV Free version but paid for SecureLine VPN

If you’re using the standalone version of SecureLine, you need to remove the SecureLine component from the Avast installation.

Thanks for the suggestions, finally did a full uninstall and used the avastclear program. All seens to be working atm.

Wonderful! ;D
