Secureline activation screen won't go away

Had to perform an uninstall/re-install of Avast Premiere after deleting “Avast Passwords” program. Now when I click on Avast Secureline icon in task bar it brings me back to “Great Secureline is activated” screen. This is every time the program is used. Before it just went straight to the “connect” screen. >:( How do I fix this?

Thanks!

See if a repair of avast is solving it.

Hello Eddy- Thanks for the reply. Did a repair and re-start but it still goes to the “Great avast Secureline is now activated” screen.

Try a REPAIR and RESET Avast Installation

If that doesn’t resolve your issue a “Clean Install” would be what I would try next.

“Clean Install”
Down load ‘and save to your desktop’ the Avast Uninstall Utility here: https://www.avast.com/en-gb/uninstall-utility

Download to your Desktop your correct Avast version from here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=182468.0

Now disconnect from the Internet
Uninstall Avast via the Control Panel

1.Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
2.Once complete reboot your system
3.Reinstall Avast

NOTE: I would recommend using the “CUSTOM” install option and make sure all the items in the ‘Tools’ (middle) column that you don’t want installed are UNCHECKED>

Tried the above twice. The problem seems to be its holding onto a corrupt file as I never have to re-enter my key for secureline. Each time I re-load I have to re-enter my key for Premiere and Clean-up. My license file is there every time for secureline without having to enter it. Very strange. I even used CC Cleaner to see If I could kill all remnants for a truly clean install but that didn’t work either. Maybe this can be fixed in a future update for Premiere?

Hi VanHelsing,

I will report this immediately to our online content team. Seems to be a bug for sure. Will get back to you with info as soon as I receive it.

Just as info :

avastclear + CCleaner (or any other cleanup tool) will not remove everything.
Meaning that if you want to perform a real clean installation, you will need to remove things manually.
(folders, files and registry entries)

Today I noticed that my name does not appear after “Licensed to” under subscriptions for Secureline. Both Avast Premiere and Clean-up have my name listed as licensed to. Maybe that has something to do with it? Anyway Secureline still not displaying sign on screen after clicking icon. Have to click thru tutorial screen every time. Very frustrating!

Hi VanHelsing,

Many apologies for this annoying situation. The bug has been fixed and a release will come very soon, most likely this week.

Thanks,

Davidek

Latest update fixed the problem thank you!
