Secureline says it's connected but whatismyip shows same IP address as when not

Secureline says it’s connected but when I check my IP via whatismyip.com it shows the same IP as when I’m not connected. What gives?

FYI is showing an IPv6 IP address… i.e. 2601:283:c200:5a00:80e6:e6e8:xxxx:xxxx instead of an IPv4 which I am more familiar with.
