I have to hover over the Secureline symbol every few minutes to see if it’s still connected because the symbol never changes- it always shows it’s connected, even when it’s not. And then sometimes I forget to check & I’ll be browsing or using my torrent client for quite a while without a VPN. BTW, when I searched I couldn’t find anyone else who’s had this problem. Please help
It’s a known bug.
It doesn’t affect whether or not Securline is connected or not, just the icon does not change as it did before.
Hovering your mouse over the icon will give the current status: Connected/Disconnected.
Hi guys, this is fixed in the standalone version of ASL already.
And btw, the integrated version is history soon, check the beta changelog.
My workaround for this uncertainty of vpn status has been that I have the vpn_engine.log
file open in real-time. For this I have been using the free LogExpert application. I have learned
that the log file seems to be a much more reliable indicator of the vpn status than the system
tray icon.
It is a bit frustrating that a paid product has this kind of flaw. But hey, few things in this
world are perfect.
Simply remove the VPN withing Avast AV and install the Standalone version.
Thanks for the tip Bob, I did that and now the standalone vpn works fine.
Happy to help. Glad the problem is solved. Have a great weekend.
