Secureline VPN on Nvidia Shield TV

I am a happy customer using secureline VPN on my existing Android devices. My licence is a monthly subscription paid through the Google play store.

I am considering getting an nvidia shield TV running Android TV and would like to know if:

a. Secureline VPN works on Android TV. I realise that it may not be officially supported but that isn’t the same thing as it working. Also assuming that I could side load it if it isn’t available to install through the play store.

b. Will it recognise my Google account on the device and link to my paid subscription?

If anyone has done what I am trying to do and can vouch for it then I would be very grateful. I can’t afford to buy the device and find I can’t run the software I want to.

It’s a bit disappointing that nobody from avast support can shed any light on this at all!

I find it difficult to believe that nobody from avast has actually tried their own product on an Android TV device. Maybe they just aren’t bothered about their customers.

Oh well maybe it’s time to look elsewhere.
