Secureline won't let me shutdown W10

I have had Secureline (paid) on android phone and tablet and W10 pc for some considerable time.

Today, I started having issues with W10 pc (mobile and tablet are fine). Been working fine since last W10 update last week. Firstly it wouldn’t change locations - just hung.
Used Task Manager to kill Secureline but still wouldn’t shut down. Message DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.
Rebooted. Re-installed Secureline. Connected to one server OK, but would not allow location change.
Ran DISM and sfc - no issues. Still had the same shutdown problem.
Uninstalled Secureline and now shutdown is normal. Have checked for driver updates and all are current. The tablet and mobile connect via the same router so I don’t think that this is the issue and as an experiment I tried Opera’s VPN and no problems occurred.

Any other avenues to pursue?

Thank you. Switched off Malwarebytes web protection and reinstalled Secureline so now all OK. Would be nice to know when MB and Avast resolve this conflict.

You’re welcome.

I posted the issue on Malwarebytes forum. After many postings and suggestions they have come up with a new beta version 4 v804 which has solved the issue

Good news, thanks for the info.

I had the same issue with Windows 10 (but posted to the Windows side of VPN in the Avast forum). Avast diagnosed this as a Malwarebytes problem and I have been turning off Web Protection when I use VPN.

Since you posted on the Android section and you have said that you had no problems with Android, I have some questions.

My MB says that its
Version 4.0.4.49
Update package version 1.0.18266
Component Package version 1.0.793

It says that it is up to date when I try to update. I do not see ‘4 v804’. Have you managed to get it and try it out?

I have also noticed a conflict with Western Digital Security. I cannot eject password protected USB media unless I turn off Malware Protection and Ransomeware Protection prior to ejection. They do not have to be turned off all the time you are using the drive – only when you need to eject. I have contacted them about both matters.

Thanks.

A simple solution is to stop using MB. till they’ve solved the problem and released the fix in a regular update.
I personally haven’t used MB for some time. It really isn’t catching anything not already found by Avast.
Malwarebytes since version 4 has become very system intensive.

To down load the MB beta version you need to go into settings and switch beta updates on.

After I did this I and updated I switched this off.
