Been using outpost for almost a year now and wouldnt think about using another. Just bought license for my mom and bro the other day also.

Remember all if you have a hardwired firewall also, and its not set up as dmz, your online tests, such as GRC.com shields up is actually reading your harware firewall and not your software firewall. The test sees the first one it gets to, and that is your hardwired firewall/router/linksys etc…

For proof of this, run a test as normal, your defualt setup. Then run test with your router bypassed, connection straight to your computer, and your results will be different.

P.S. Still having those skin problems with Alpha channel ? I replaced all my skins in skin download section. Only one skin by me was made using alpha channel in base bitmap (Laah-Ra), but I replaced that one too. I hope everything is fine now…

Glad I was able to help. Im a Beta tester part time for Agnitum (outpost), so that is a common issue with closed vs stealth. Many people are unaware when running these tests, that if you have a router, that will be the first to be seen thru scans.

Having a router and a firewall is the perfect solution, makes your comp a double lock. And you have to remember, if your router shows closed, more than likely your software firewall will be stealth, so in essence, the hacker sees nothing to attack.

Btw, have you enabled those internal sounds for Lcars skin ? There are some nasty sounds in there, I know you would like to hear those…

You have to put checkmark under DISABLE avast! SOUNDS in avast! Sound settings to be able to hear LCARS internal sounds.

Argh i put ZoneAlarm 4.5 Pro back on test and it beated a new record!!! In one day its modules take almost 100MB of RAM memory (96MB if we are precise). This is a crime WTF :o :o :o

Yup,i uninstalled it because there was some problems with rules after system crash,but it seems that i managed to fix this (checking ports at GRC right now)… I love low memory usage (2,8MB right now :smiley: )
