A popup indicating all kinds of virus and malware present in our PC came up and requested a download to ‘delete’ the bad stuff.
Was called ‘Security Tool’ or ‘System Security’ or something like that.
Didnt download, and used Malwarebytes plus spyware web site info to remove links.
IE link history/properties show…
http://a n t y w i r a m e r i c a p c.c o m/downloader.php?affid=93009
as possible address involved.
Should Avast Home Edition be catching/stopping this popup ?
Ps: How to change forum message ‘signature’ ?

no security program have 100% detection, if they did the virus problem would be gone
Malwarebytes pro would have stopped it

I just spent half an hour at work isolating and cleaning up a pc infected with this annoying program.
I have used Avast at home for years with no issues, but then I’m a fairly savvy web user. Imagine my disappointment when I isolated the bad executable file at the work pc, scanned it, and saw that Avast gives it a green light.

Please, help improving avast detection. Submit the file (send it to virus@avast.com ).
