I can’t see the relevance of your question to a security patch posted for Adobe Reader…
If you don’t have Adobe reader then don’t patch.
But I can answer you anyway:
I have and use Foxit reader, but can’t use it on all pdf documents.
I have to use Adobe sometimes.
After patching Adobe Secunia PSI is happy again, too. ;D
Hope you are satisfied now. :o
It would be like asking you why you are posting updates to google chrome
with all its privacy implications, and not the much safer Ironbrowser.
But I will not.
there are something related, you are talking about adobe and I asked you why fix unlimited security problems in http://cache.filehippo.com/img/ex/1045__AdobeReader_2.gif
adobe reader…?!
and then please don’t cry…!! if you cry I would cry too!! :‘( :’(
which kind of .pdf fils
http://cache.filehippo.com/img/ex/111__foxit.gif Foxit does not support? ??? it’s not happened to me foxit don’t be able to open any PDF file
it open, edit,
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/images/products/pdfcreator.gif create, convert and export to text files for me… in browsers and its main program, it has a tiny plugin that create virtul printer for me to create pdf files in every program, also it has not installed anything in my startup such as adobe and it can load fast enough without that startup thing like adobe…
also I feel secure with that, because I feel it does not have those security problems such as adobe reader to fix them and make secunia happy ;D
next time please do, I like it we all be honest here and feel free to clear things for each other, I would ask and I hope you answer and I want you when there are something in your mind ask me and tell me what I’m doing wrong and share opinion in a good way with good reasons.
Like OF, I’m a little off-topic here, but for the same reason as him, it relates to alternate viewers.
I ditched Adobe a couple of years ago in favor of the PDF-Xchange viewer (from Tracker Software), more because it’s lighter and faster than Adobe than for security reasons. And therefore I haven’t really bothered to stay “tuned in” to Adobe’s security problems.
The obvious question to me is: Are those security problems specific to Adobe? Or are other viewers likely to be vulnerable too? Obviously I’d like to find out about my specific one, if anyone happens to know.
Other viewers can also be vulnerable, there have been recent security updates for FoxIt PDF reader. So yes they can, but with a much smaller user base less prone to people devoting time to exploit it.
What you have to have is one that is being actively developed and that includes security updates.
