every time i boot up, avast alerts on securityhelp.dll and cleans it up.
i want avast to fix the problem permanently and get this off my computer.
please advise.

mbam seems to have fixed it. thanks. if it recurs, i’ll come back to this post.
why am i paying for avast if mbam does a better job?
Malwarebytes is not a replacement for antivirus, there is a ton if stuff it will not detect,that Avast! detect 
MBAM is quite a different type of anti-malware solution that can be used as a resident solution next to your resident AV solution, in our case that is Avast AV. MBAM is software that specially scans for adware, spyware and other annoyances that are somewhat out of the range of general AV detection which is performed by AV solutions, while in a sense they could overlap. I personally also use MBAM Premium next to Avast as a second line of defense. To say the one solution is worthless or the other is, is complete and utter nonsense as you can either fish with a rod or a net… ;D
The three in one solutionfor me is Avast, MBAM & CCleaner, a good trio that will keep your devices clean.
