Are you using Trillian or another program able to address your ICQ account without
having ICQ on your System?
I don’t have ICQ on my system but still access ICQ thru Trillian also AIM and Yahoo
and MSN. Again I don’t have any of the actual chat programs on my computer.

Bob I have not MSN messenger or other IMs onboard: sometime I use the MSN web messenger, 'cause I don’t like this programs. In the recent past Avast! stopped some inbound malwares from Winamp, so I unistalled also it. :-.… no more my preferred rock & blues songs…

Winamp only plays audio and video files it doesn’t download files so anything avast detected had to be something you
personally downloaded.
I know it, Bob… Maybe (hypothesis) this player send to us unsolicited and hidden packets while we are connected? :
Really I don’t download music or videos.
