Seeing Double

I am a ‘happy user’ of avast! but have a strange problem. When I send an email in either HTML (my normal format) or Rich Text or even Plain Mail there at the bottom of the email is the avast! message.
In my case there are two.
The first has the avast message with the complete link (ie http:// www - etc) the other is just a link that is underlined.
How can I stop seeing double please?
David

You don’t say what your email program is ?

I know you mention that you used three different methods but this usually only happens when you use MIME email format to send email.

This may be because your using MIME Multi part email format, this in effect sends an HTML part and a Text part, the text part is only seen if the recipient can’t view or has disabled HTML email. You are in effect sending two emails and avast is stamping the text and HTML parts.

So check the underlying settings of your email program and see if it isn’t using multi part email, though I can’t see how this happens if you are using text format, unless that too is sending an HTML email.

Hi,
I use Outlook for mail and this in turn uses Word. I feel I didn’t make it clear what I did. I sent 3 emails to myself - 1 HTML 1 Rich Text and 1 Plain Mail just to see if seeing double happened on one or more emails. It was on all three. I did this because a friend said, the email from me had two avast! statements at the bottom. It is of no real importance - I was just curious as to what I may have done or what I should do.
Thanks for your response
Regards
David

If you send one to yourself it will have an outbound check and an inbound check, assuming you have these options ticked (I never have inbound messages marked as clean, if they aren’t avast will scream like a banshee). The same will be try for your friend if they have avast.

I don’t have this problem, but I’m only using OE, I’m sure if this problem was across the board with all MS Outlook users we would have seen more about it in the forums, which I haven’t.
