Since Essex asked you I’ve notified him specifically for you
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your quick action. I mentioned essexboy in my initial post because he stated in an old thread that it was becoming too long and confusing.
Have to admit starting a new thread did get me a faster response as I posted last night and that post still sits there with no action.
I’m by no means turning down help. If you can help me out please do.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi you appear to running from a Bartpe drive and FRST is not detecting the C drive
So could you start the computer in either safe or normal mode and run FRST from there
If that is not possible then could you run from the Reatogo desktop as detailed here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 (Last section)
Thanks for your response essexboy. I will use the suggested method and post the logs.
Hi essexboy. Sorry for the late reply. I’ve created a bootable usb stick twice using the method detailed here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=130459.75 and each time I try and boot the pc from the stick I get an error “A disk read error occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart” any suggestions?
I believe you have a problem with the hard drive. Are you able to do a parallel install of windows (this will not loose any data)
I will try the install and see if that helps me get to the drive. I will let you know the results.
OK if you need any assistance just shout
