Seems like a virus, but not detecting anything..

Feels like I have a virus on my laptop, but everything comes up clean. Just its eating more RAM than it should and start up and shut down is ridiculously slow. Maybe its all the programs that came with it, I don’t know. Its an HP Probook 6550b. In any case, just to be safe, posting logs here and if it isn’t a virus, well, here’s hoping someone still knows what I can do to speed things up. Have to run a Virtual Box for a class on this thing so I’d like it in top shape.

Final log… nothing of note it seems.

No apparent malware on the logs

Have you emptied your temporary files and run windows defrag ?

Yeppers

The slowness in shutting down would tend to indicate that one of your programmes is not shutting down properly

Befor eyou shut down next time ensure all applications are closed - does that make it any better ?

OK, I figured out the issue… not a virus or malware, but I don’t know the solution. I have a ridiculous number of processes running. I never noticed before just how bad it was because I derped and never thought to click show processes from all users. A lot of it is linked to the SQL server. Wondering if I’m able to turn all that stuff off with no problems… Would like it all to run automatically when I run the management studio

Although seems like there’s other stuff I don’t need too, but I can’t be sure. Anyone have any idea where I can go for this? Like who I can toss a list of processes to so they can tell me what I can turn off with no ill effects?

Have a look at BlackVipers page http://www.blackviper.com/2010/12/17/black-vipers-windows-7-service-pack-1-service-configurations/ I always find the information there good
