Self Defense Conflict

The Self Defense system on Avast conflicts with the lastest version of Comodo Firewall at least on my computer it does when the Self Defense system is activated. How can I stop the conflict so I can use Comodo Firewall along with Avast? Just curious and sorry if this isn’t clear enough to understand.

This has been in a couple of topics already I believe, search on comodo and self-defence.

The issue is comodo wants to open avast files with write permission and it is that which is the problem. There is talk of in these instances the message won’t be displayed as the user can do anything about it.

Thank you.

You’re welcome.

How does this conflict happen? Is there an error message? Can you post a screenshot?

There is a screenshot on the other topic about this if I remember rightly.

I get a blue screen of death and it talks about the Self Defense driver trying to access the memory when it is freed. Does that help any?

Please update avast to version 4.8.1195. That should resolve the problem.

Thanks
Vlk

I upgraded to 4.8.1195 and I will reinstall the firewall to see if it works now. Thanks and the Firewall works nicely with Avast Self Protection now.
