sending E-Mail (Outlook2007) with Attachement is really slow - Why?

Hy guys!

My system:

WinXP SP2 (all updates). Microsoft Office Outlook2007, Avast 4.7 home.

Since I have installed Avast (2 days ago) and I’m going to send an e-mail with attachment, Outlook needs roughly 4-5 minutes until a mail with an 1MB attachment is sent.

Inside Avast I shut down the “Outlook/Exchange” provider. But the problem won’t leave.

When I completely shut down the whole Avast-program, Outlook works fine and an 1MB Mail is out within some seconds.

What can I do to get rid of this problem?

I like Avast really much, but I need a solution for this trouble.

mmmhh …strange!!

But since today it works fine again. Don’t what the prob was, but it is gone.

Strange… When the plugin is disabled, nothing should be delaying the email to be sent…
You don’t have to disable all the plugin, just the SMTP (outbound) scanning. Keep the protection of the POP3 (inbound) messages scanning.
