Sent e-mail using Thunderbird keep getting the following error -
“An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: concurrent connection limit in Avast exceeded(pass:0, processes:thunderbird.exe[38], PRTG Probe.exe[12]).”"
“An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: concurrent connection limit in Avast exceeded(pass:0, processes:thunderbird.exe[27], PRTG Probe.exe[23]).”
An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: concurrent connection limit in Avast exceeded(pass:0, processes:thunderbird.exe[34], PRTG Probe.exe[16]).
I don’t believe it will, as Avast has a Concurrent Connection maximum setting (50) and this is what is triggering the issue for info2589.
This used to be in the avast5.ini file and could be increased, now the registry is used.

Check out this topic https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=181383.0 it is old and shows the avast5.ini and later in the topic the new means of recording avast settings in the registry and they can be modified. I just wonder if you would have to disable the avast self-defence module before doing this.
Removing the Ipv6 does appear to have made an improvement - difficult to quantify.
HOWEVER
First e-mail today

I suggest you read my Reply #11 above as I’m not sure ipv6 has anything to do with the error displayed. Though this part of the error message is strange “The mail server sent an incorrect greeting:.”
Did you install and what are you using this PRTG Probe.exe function for ?
See https://www.file.net/process/prtg%20probe.exe.html if this is network monitoring it is eating up connections leading to exceeding the Avast Concurrent Connection maximum setting (50).
You could try this option first.
Try disabling this PRTG Probe.exe function and see if your sending email works ?
