Even though that wouldnāt help in replenishing their tarnished reputation, I would want them to stop collecting any form of user data and to keep only the 1st option as opt-in in Privacy Section.
Living without them is not really that hard, people are just lazy and canāt be bothered to use different services anymore. They want everything in one place which is usually āGoogleā. Iāve ditched Google entirely very long time ago now and Iām not missing anything. I use various different services that in the end build up basically the same experience Iāve had with Google and all their services in one place. It started with DuckDuckGo and ended when I ditched Android phones for an iPhone. Maybe the later isnāt perfect, but my data profile is now spread widely and not centralized with single company and my usability hasnāt really changed at all. I still find everything with my current search engine, I can send all the e-mails that I want, I can store all the data in cloud that I want and so on. Only thing where I still sometimes use Google is Youtube coz there really arenāt any serious alternatives for that. Everything else has been replaces with alternatives. Sure some cost money, but for those Iām certain they are private and I want them that way. Especially e-mail service which probably handles by far the most personal data.
Some people can consider Avast as a traitor to privacy and to customersā¦and I can say there is no traitor in history didnāt get revealed.
Surely 80% of the history is fake, but the good thing is that All the traitors get revealedā¦
