I get this error every time I try to update anything. I recently bought an upgrade and can’t even use that because of these errors. Avast says everything’s ok, but to me it looks like I haven’t received any definitions since August 2014. Please help me to fix this. I don’t even like thinking that I’m not covered.
- Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version…?
- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
- Other security related software installed…?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?
Well right now its Avast Free, but I had bought the upgrade to Pro. It won’t even download the new Pro version either.
Current version it says: ffffff-ff but it also says everything’s good.
OS: 64 Bit
The only other security that is used is the windows defender.
I had this pc built for me and it came with Avast. I have had Kaspersky in the past though.
I like Avast because it doesn’t interfere with my gaming.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)…!!

Then:
- Download Avast Pro Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe
- Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
- Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
- Reboot.
