Hello, Installed adnm onto server2003 what appeared to be without any problems until I tried to log on to the console. When I press detect server nothing appears in the drop down list, If I try to type the address in manually it is not accepted and I recieve the message unable to login as administrator or connection error. I presume that it is sql related? however if I check the connection through the tools it says that it is ok. the local services related to avast are running except server ad helper?and I have errors in the event viewer relevant to this stating that value has to be 2? can any one help? Incidentally it is the demo installed if this would make a difference. Thanks
So, is the “avast! Management Server” service started? If not, can it be started manually? If not, can you please post the contents of the file \data\log\error.log?
BTW are you using MSDE or full SQL?

Hello VLK, thanks for the reply, i’m using the msde with avast, The avast management server service value is started and auto, however when I look through the services I can see that msql avast is not started. I have started this service to see if it makes a difference but that didn’t work, msql server helper is not started and is set to manual. I have checked the database conn in the tools and it states that the conn is ok, hope this is enough insight.
Out of curiosity how does the mirror work in relation to the locally installed application?
