servers.def.vpu

I cannot (neither can my wife) access the servers.def.vpu data. We have tried auto and manually, and I have tried to repair and update through control panel. I finally did a complete uninstall and reinstall. Once I did that there came up the green (new version) update which I did with no problem (which tells me it is probably not a problem with my server, connection, or system). However the def.vpu is still hanging up. Could there be a problem with the server?

Thanks in Advance…
David

Well being a total novice I went to the website and downloaded the vpsupd update for 4-25 with no problem. Is this the same thing as the server .def file? When I ran it it said all was up to date already. Am I fully protected at this point? Now I am really confused… LOL…

We will need more information to be able to help you:

  • Which OS are you using? Is it up to date?
  • What avast! version?
  • Do you use a firewall? Which one?
  • Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system?
  • Any other security programs that could interfere?

The file on the website (for off-line update) should be the same as the automatic/manual update.
Actually, the VPS is 000736-0
