setifaceUpdatePackages Warning & No Scheduled Scans

I installed AVAST 4.7 PRO on a Win98SE system a few weeks ago. It seems to have been running ok, except the weekly scan I scheduled never runs. Manual scans have run ok. Then today I looked in the Warning log & found this:

2/9/2008 10:51:32 AM 4294845497 Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0xFFFFFFFF, dwRes is FFFFFFFF.
2/13/2008 11:21:48 AM 4294876687 Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0xFFFFFFFF, dwRes is FFFFFFFF.
2/14/2008 2:42:29 PM DMorgen 4294876605 Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0xFFFFFFFF, dwRes is FFFFFFFF.
2/17/2008 8:54:45 AM DMorgen 4294870825 Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0xFFFFFFFF, dwRes is FFFFFFFF.

Do you have any idea what this warning means, and why the scheduled scan never happens?
