Whenever I change the settings of any module in Avast Internet Security and press OK, it display the message “You are not allowed to perform this action. Please contact your system administrator”.
I previously installed Avast Antivirus 4.8 and I uninstall it from Avast uninstall tool and reboot, then run and celan with CCleaner, again reboot and then install Avast Internet Security 7 and reboot.
Kindly not that I am already logged on from the Administrator account (the only account) and there is no any other account.
(Optional) If you want, save your avast! settings for later restoration (Settings > Maintenance > Back up).
Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1 in Safe Mode. Boot after you’ve run it. Repeat this for any major avast! version you have ever installed/upgraded in your computer.
Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro. Or even upgrade your key from old versions.
Check and post the results. If, for any reason, you did not solve, try doing the step 3 in Safe Mode anyway.
I did accordingly as you said, but the issue is still there. One more thing I forgot to mention that my system was on Domain, but not now and I am logging on to my system from Windows administrator and not the Domain administrator. Is there are chance that some restrictions were remain because of Domain? And how do I verify these restrictions since I am not on Domain now? And of course, I don’t know the Domain administrator password.
The problem is, avast detected you’re inside guest group but it didn’t check you’re also in admin group. Next avast7 beta should be available in 1-2 weeks, otherwise you can try to remove your Guest group somewhere in control panel (Administrative Tools, or somewhere), then try to disable “Limit access…” checkbox in avast settings (troubleshoot page). Then you can revert it back.
I’d wait for next program update (available within ~2 weeks).
If you don’t want to wait, then go to Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Computer Management, click on System Tools/Local Users and Groups/Users, find your Account name, double click, click on Member Of, find Guest entry and click on Remove button.
