I am encountering the error during setup and every time I boot my computer, setup error: c:\part-setup_ais-ffffffff.vpx. I have followed the instructions from previous users without success. I do not have a file labelled, Program on my C: drive. Can you help me?
I have uninstalled the program and then run the avast program that removes the remaining parts. Following this I went into regedit and removed anything with the name avast and then re-installed with the same setup error. Please help.
Hi Stephen72
Which antivirus was installed before Avast!, and how did you remove it ?

Hi stephen. Welcome to Avast forum.
Besides making sure you do not have remnants of old AV as mentioned by Rednose above. Also make sure you do no have a file named Program or Program.old in your directory. Like this C:\Program. If you do delete it and try to install Avast again. see image below
Avast is the only antivirus program that has ever been present on this computer. I have gone into Windows Explorer and enabled the ability to view hidden files, etc. and there is no C:\program or program.old on my computer.
I am trying to get some expert help here.

Are you using the standalone installer or the web installer ?
I used a standalone installer. This is a Windows 7, 32 bit workstation. This problem has not surfaced on any of the other workstations. I recently upgraded to the business edition, however the results are same. Same error message after booting up.
