several problems wit avast

  1. the scan when computer starts doesn’t work (is that the boot scan?)
  2. there is no blue ball on the task bar
  3. i can’t enable the resident protection

at the begining it was ok but then i installed CA antivirus and had to uninstall the avast. now i uninstalled the ca and reinstalled the avast and the problems above acured

Please use CA removal tool to eliminate most of the remnants. Or if you have any more more previous antivirus, use their respective removal tool too, including avast since well be reinstalling.

Note that you should not allow internet connectivity when an antivirus is uninstalled. In this case, you must have the installer on your harddrive before continuing the uninstall.

may your pc infected and a retrovirus disable avast while you install it so clean your pc then reinstall avast! ::slight_smile:
