several threats in temp folder

hello, im new to avast and this forum so if im doing something wrong im sorry
ive been searshing this forum for someone that has the same issue as i have but, no luck.

every time i run a full scan with avast i find a whole bunch of threats in windows temp files all with medium danger level.
i could’nt delete them at first, avast complained that they could not be found, so i changed the setting to delete them automaticly when found. and it worked, they were successfully removed.
i felt smart for a while untill next morning when i scanned again. it found them all again, MANY tmp files infected. my heart sank alittle. ive recently formated my pc after realizing the horrible effects of a trojan keylogger. i installed virus program, anti-spyware and firewall program.
apparantly i did something wrong and got infected anyway :-
my recent search found all the same but also 6 infected files in the avast category
i couldnt find a way to show you the results of my scan though, but i can send a couple of pictures.
log ‘4 out of 4’ shows the infected files in avast folder. i could’nt upload all four.

thanks in advance!

Try cleaning your temp files and see if it goes away

TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer
http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/
TFC requires a reboot immediately after running. Be sure to save any unsaved work before running TFC.

They aren’t threats, but errors/notifications of files that can’t be scanned ?

If you could translate what the error message is, it might help.

The windows file system error 0 = The operation completed successfully.
So I can’t understand why those temp files are listed.

The windows file system error 3 = The system cannot find the path specified.
In this case it is down to avast house keeping, clearing out old virus definition folders and their contents, nothing to worry about.

The windows file system error 0 = The operation completed successfully.
correct on the tempfiles
The windows file system error 3 = The system cannot find the path specified.
and yes for the last 6

He has swedish language David…

oh, i didn’t expect such fast replies. and sorry i forgot to translate

ive been using CCleaner several times and it has removed totally up to 400mb from both my hardisks successfully.
but still the problam persists. ive even tried to disable ‘System Restore’
there are about 3 full lists of temp files that are detected including the one i uploaded here.

maybe TFC is better?

should i be worried about this?

Undoubtedly it is deeper than CCleaner.

right, ill give it a try.

Hey i think that did it! i ran a boot-time scan also after the TFC clean, and it found about 3 .tmp files and something infected with ‘Win32:Enistery [Susp]’ i think its gone cause i scanned with avast and my anti-spyware program and it found no threats!

BUT, i fear that they might reappear somehow again. i dunno if i should be worried or not though.
if it happends that i should be worried, what can i do to prevent future infections so i can relax and feel safe?

before i forget, Thank you all for helping me. its really awsome to have free support like this with fast delivery

i think its gone cause i scanned with avast and my anti-spyware program and it found no threats!
If you don`t already have it i recomend malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.org

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
remember to always update before you scan, and to click the remove selected button after scan to quarantine infections

the 313 infected tmp files have returned, same as usual =(
should i run the same process af before or os this a more serious problem?

I think maybe Essexboy should take a look inside…he will find out why they return…
he enters the forum in about 4-5 hours…

Follow this guide from our expert malware remover Essexboy, and post the log`s here
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

To avoid using multiple posts with copy and paste you have to attach the logs
Lower left corner: Additional Options > Attach ( OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt.)

im not sure i know what i doing here. i dont think there is any specific info in the mbam log.
here are all the logs =)

Hi I would like to bet a pound to a penny that the temp files being detected are unencrypted data from Spyware Doctor 8.0

As far as I can see there is no apparent malware on your system

I can check deeper if you so wish

I made a separate topic on this a few days ago, the problem lies with Spyware Doctor (version 7 or 8 ), and a fix is being worked on. You can simply delete the files but more will appear - they’re files incorrectly left over from Spyware Doctor’s scanning.

Who needs spyware doctor when you have Malwarebytes…

so uhm, its bad to have them both installed at the same time? spyware doctor and malwarebytes?
spyware doctor has detected occational infections at startup scans but if malwarebytes is better i’ll uninstall spyware doctor
it whould be great to be rid of all those pestering tmp threat files.

i’d really like to have an answer to the question stated above though. spyware doctor still keeps finding infections with medium threat.

Without information we can’t help on that - What is the file name, location and malware name that spyware doctor (SD) is supposedly finding ?

Personally I would let SD go as MBAM is easily up to the task and is lighter on system resources.

This may be your answer

aah, so those threats detected by spyware doctor are nothing to worry about then, cool.

im wondering about one thing though, should i keep spyware doctor or is it just an encumbrance on the system while together with malwarebytes?
