I’m almost in the 4.000th post…
I even cannot remember myself as a newbie in these forums.
After so long time I’m asking myself if it isn’t the time to stop…
I tried to do my best.

I agree with you that losing Technical would be a great loss of a fellow forum member, friend, and a person with a great deal of knowledge. Hope not to lose you. You are a great deal of help to me and others on this forum. Just wanted to say thank you for all the help you have giiven me and to the others of the forum that haven’t said so.
Technical… don’t tell me you are switching to BitDefender…

4000th post or not… that doesn’t count… what counts is human good will, kindness and readiness to help to other.
I think you have all those characteristics, so I won’t tell you what to do… decide yourself, and I’m 100% sure you’re gonna make good decision. You know that we all want you to stay…

4000 posts that’s not even half way to the 10,000 mark that I want to accomplish before I leave (croke) this forum. You my friend have to much knowledge to leave us poor soles out here to fend for ourselves.
What makes you even think about leaving here? This is family and you can’t just quit the family.
Besides you said we could be clones and that means you can’t leave till I do.
Hang in there, Technical – you’ve been a great help to us. Totally aside from your assistance to individuals, most of the great technical (and even a few of the admin) sticky threads here were your own work, like the one on the INI and the newer FAQ’s.
If you’ve got things happening in your life that will make increasing demands on your time, at least drop in a couple of times a day. And for heaven’s sake, please don’t get any ideas that we’re tired of you or your help or even just your companionship.

I know that at times we spend hours upon hours sitting here by the computer answering posts and doing research. It is hard to do and it takes much of us.
But in return, we go forward knowing that we have helped as many as we could…those users who would not have the support that they need.
You have been a leader and friend for a long time.
I have followed your trail and learned much from you.
Your are an inspiration to us all.
For you to leave when you have contributed so much here in the forum would be a loss unmeasurable.
Yes, there are many others, some of whom you mentioned, that do their best to assist users, but behind every good team is the “leader” who guides, directs, supports and teaches.
YOU, Technical…are our Leader.
Please stay. The words come from the heart.

Having burst through the 4000 barrier, perhaps its a bit late to run and hide.
Perhaps you could let some of the others take the load whilst you work on the Users FAQ. I also think that the Users FAQ should be more prominent In the opening forum screen, something like a bold text heading.
First Visit - Please read the avast! Users FAQ thread (with appropriate link).
This would I believe reduce the overall number of posts as it should overcome many early problems.
It should also indicate the information we need in order to be able to help them, rather than the current process of extracting information from them bit by bit (like a dentist pulling teeth it’s painful). This should also speed up the resolution process and reduce the time required to help.
Just my 2pence worth and a plea not to give up, we are rank amatures clutching at straws by comparison.
