Sheduling scans?

Hi all. I d/loaded Avast yesterday after seeing it mentioned in a couple of forums. So far I’m really impressed, have had a good look through all the settings etc and run a full scan. I cant however find anyway to set a scheduled scan say every couple of days or daily. I don’t wish to use the boot scan mode.
I generally like to set my av prog to run a full scan when I’m out at work so its all done when I return after lunch!
Is there a setting I’ve missed somehow that will allow me to do this, or do I have to start it manually each time before I go out?
Many thanks in advance! Mc

Hi, welcome to the forums.

This depends on the version you have, the Home version doesn’t have scheduled scanning built in. The Pro version does and gives much more flexibility for the options on how to deal with any virus found.

There is a way to do a basic scan using ashquick.exe.

Hi, schedule scan is only available in the pro version of Avast, although looking at other postings there could be a way, so follow this link http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=3796

Thanks so much. Wow that was a fast response. I’m gonna give that a whirl!!
Thanks again for a great av product. ;D

Yippee its all set up and running in sheduled tasks. Ty guys.
This forum rocks. 8)

This is just one of the things that make avast a great AV, support, and not only for those with the Pro (paid) version. I have not come across any other like it.

I’ll certainly second that. My sister is now also using it and so will my dad be when I point him in your direction next time I go over there!
Keep up the great work
