shields do not work

I just purchased this today and had used the free version, that worked fine . Now shields say I am not protected and will not allow me to activate them . Could I get some help here?
Thank you

  • Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • Which version…??
  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV did you use before avast!..??

why can’t I log in to the support area and why is there on response here? I had to remove Avast to get the purchased copy to work

avast! Internet security V8 1 PC 1 year download 03/10/13 and I am running
Windows XP 32 bit
SP3 but that SP3 was some how deleted by the on line technician to fix IE8 that was not working right ,
a new SP3 auto update was sent to my computer just after I ended the on line repair by your tech. I still have tons of errors some of them for PaintShopPro that got stolen . I can’t register the program correctly when I go to that log in on the program where is says account I place in my e-mail address and it won’t take

  1. Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

I no longer see button to create a new post , so I will ask here. What do I need to do to make MBAM and Avast Internet Security run well together?

You will find new topic before you enter any topic. See screenshot

There is really no need to exclude MBAM and Avast! from each other, but if you need to do it…

In Avast! exclusions for FSS, BS, and ASB add :

C:\Program files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
C:\Program files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe
C:\Program files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe

In WS in URL to exclude add:

*.mbamupdates.com

In MBAM ignore list add:

C:\WINDOWS\temp_avast_
C:\Program files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastUI.exe
C:\Program files\AVAST Software\Avast\ashQuick.exe
C:\Program files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastEmUpdate.exe
C:\Program files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastSvc.exe
C:\Program files\AVAST Software\Avast\avast.setup
