The webmail, viewed through your browser is covered by the Web Shield provider.
So technically the Internet Mail (which doesn’t cover webmail) is redundant too, however, I would leave it enabled and set the sensitivity to High. Some malware comes with its own very small SMTP email program that can send out Spam, avast’s Internet Mail can detect multiple identical emails sent in a short time.
This could be your first indication if you have an undetected trojan spambot on your system. It won’t be using resources unless it is actually scanning so the running service will only be using about 1.5 MB of RAM.
