Shortcuts not appearing on start menu in Vista due to hard coded ProgramData

Avast seems to have hardcoded paths for the start menu shortcuts in Vista.

“C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\avast! Antivirus”

You should be using the %ProgramData% environment variable. Tut! Tut! :wink:

No, avast! certainly doesn’t use hardcoded paths (and especially not ProgramData) - what makes you think so?
How/where did you install avast!?
Also, what language version of Vista do you use?
