There might be some people that never update, for one reason or another. I’ve been thinking of not updating, for because I heard accounts of people deciding to update and are regretting it.
Things like programs they had are just broken now, to their computers being unstable with expansion cards. Another potential nightmare is drivers not compatible with Win10
.
From what I understand, Windows is offering free download as beta testing, essentially the users are the guinea pigs?
This also worries me to going ahead with it and the old adage, “If it ain’t broke…”.
My computer is getting up there in age, it’s from 2011, an Acer 5253, the update wizard says my computer is ‘compatible’, but I still have concerns that this might cause problems. I wouldn’t want to turn my machine in to a brick.
Any opinions on the Windows 10 update, or anything I should know before updating?
Like what happens when the full update is out, will there be some tactic like “Oh. The full release is out, you can continue getting support updates if you pay us a small fee.”?

Gah! Avast doesn’t support windows 10? That makes me sad. I think that might might be a deal breaker for me, to update that is.

I don’t know where you’re reading but Avast runs on Win10, Windows 10 is also on full release and has been for some months.
Beta testing is current for the second instalment of Win10 which should be released November 2nd I believe.
I’ve got systems as old as 2006 Vista that run Win 10 with no problems.
