I hope someone can give me an advice whether I should upgrade my avast version 5 to 7 or not. Last time I did upgrade, my display driver went blank most of the time I open a website with chrome. I do have a display driver’s issue for years now and still haven’t figure it out yet when I used an older version on avast, the problem didn’t come up as much as it did after I upgrade my avast.
So, I was wondering will my OS still be protected from the latest threat if I use an older version of avast or is upgrading really necessary to stay up-to-date?
Staying up to date with any software is preferable to staying with older technology/strategies.
Version 7 of Avast has better detection and security modules not present in version 5.
If at all possible, I would tend to suggest staying current with the latest version of Avast.
Any upgrade, I would suggest using ASWClear (Avast Clean-up Tool in Safe Mode ) to remove any/all versions of Avast installed on your PC. Run the tool seperately for each version you have had installed.
Then download latest version/product of Avast you want for a Clean Install.
