I am using Avast 2014 free, I have 2 Avast Adblocker folders in:

Users/appdata/localLow and programfiles/avast software/avast.

Seeing adblocker is not in the latest version why are these folders on my computer? Should I use aswclear to uninstall Avast 8 to get rid of these?

Also, with online security is there supposed to be some type of checkmark next to websites when you search for something, similar to WOT I guess. If so it is not showing up on my searches.

I updated to 2014 over top of RC3.

The avast adblocker should be a separate program which you can uninstall from programs and features.

Yes there should be green ticks next to your web searches if you have the Browser Protection module installed, try a repair and see if that helps other wise you may need to perform a clean install.

craigb, do you mean I could uninstall by going to control panel? Adblocker is not there. I think it was at one time and I think I did do a uninstall, thats why I am wondering why it is still showing up in folders on my computer. I may try a repair, not too keen on the checkmarks but was just wondering if they should be there. Thanks.

If adblocker is not in the installed programs and you think you might have removed it then the avast adbock folders you are seeing are leftovers and can be deleted.
