Shoutcast problem

I’m a shoutcast broadcaster and the network shield doesn’t let listeners to connect to my radio. The costumize button only lets me choose if I want it to log and to show warning messages. How can I open the required TCP ports on the shield?

Network shield is not a firewall and doesn’t block ports.

Please provide more details so we can help you.

The network shield doesn’t block, it alerts you to malware trying to gain access to your system through ports routinely used by exploits. If that happened you would get a pop-up alert window accompanied by a loud audio alarm.

If network shield were to alarm it would also indicate you firewall isn’t doing the job.

So I don’t believe it is network shield it isn’t a full blown firewall, so you may have to look at your firewall and see if that is blocking, a task it is designed to do (which the network shield isn’t).

Well, I paused the network shield and listeners could connect. I resumed the shield again and they couldn’t. If it doesn’t block ports, it’s doig something else that doesn’t let people to connect to my radio.

Try it yourself:

I have the required ports opened in the windows firewall.

I’m listening to it now, no problem here apart from my firewall popping-up lots of permission requests for JetAudio to connect.

14:26:51 jetaudio.exe OUT TCP 67.15.180.29 HTTP Allow Once
I kept allowing it once rather than create a rule. It is quite good considering I'm on dial-up.

And you were not the only one, another guy successfully connected. Now I can’t understand why another guy could only connect when I paused the network shield… :-
But if you can, it seems everything is okay. Thanks for your help.

Your welcome, thanks for the music ;D

Welcome to the forums.
