Shutting down

Hi! It is just me…

Is it possible to make that avast executing some other program when it shutting down or become be deactivated?

Can you rephrase?
avast! running other program? I never saw this?
avast! needs to shut down to shut down the computer, what do you mean by deactivated?

Sorry for delay…

I mean that, do avast have some tool that can atleast report if realtime protection was deactivated?

Some buildin or extended tool for monitoring of avast status.

I want to know becouse

If for example… avast was deactivated by user or some other software so It could do somthing… tex. run other security tasks to prevent infection or somthing like that. // user have still admin rights, those cannot be changed.

Set a password on Avast so the user can’t change things.

Yes it is in user case works but I was able very easy to kill avast process with windows taskmanager. How to protect from that?

This was discussed before.
If you’re logged as the Administrator, there are tons of ways to circunvent ANY anti-killer process feature. Could be more ‘difficult’ or ‘not evident’ for common users like us but for virus makers it’s not a problem…
The only way will be log with a non-administrator account or use DropMyRights application for browser and email program.

Ok…
Is it some way then to reload avast realtime protection without restarting of whole computer?
To reload it manual or after few minutes?

ops…
where? you have lot of posts here, can give me link to that thread?

thx

//cuz I need to replace config file and run avast again.

//it is avast pro, so do you have some features like that for this version?

Just stop the On-Access Protection do what you want and then enable it there’s no need to restart, that’s it.

I used tskill in bat script to disable avast and get access to avast4.mdb and replace it with other settings. (cuz it was no other way to import new settings) :frowning:

Efter that I need to start it up again.

No, it’s not a feature of Pro version. The Home version has the same behavior.

Sorry i haven’t a clue ??? Maybe someone with a little more knowledge can help you.
