Just installed and am doing a scan. It finds something (infected file) and asks me to choose one of 10 options (delate, delete all, repair, repair all, etc.)
I have no idea which option to choose.
I believe these are files quarantined by my prior antivirus program (norton).
Hi, welcome to the forum.
We will need the full path and file name of the object detected to make an assessment of that, please. Include these in your next post.
How did you remove Norton? You will probably need to run the removal tool to completely remove it.
Generally the safest action is to “send to chest” (quarantine). The rationale is that if it is a safe or needed file incorrectly detected, it can be restored.
If you delete anything that was needed, it’s game over for the particular process that might have needed that file. (Which is OK if it was a malware file, of course.)
“Repair” is generally only available for a few important system files, that may have been modified by a virus. It would be a minority of events where “repair” would be the appropriate action, these days. Most current malwares are trojans and worms, and they can not be repaired.
