Ever since my girlfriend and I upgraded to avast mobile security premium we’ve been experiencing quite an odd event… when we put our phones on silent, we can still hear notifications loud and clear. however when we uninstall avast, the phones work as normal. We’ve done this three times just to see if it is replicated. well bad news, it is. Is this a bug in the newest version? Are we the only ones that are experiencing this? she has motorola xt-907 and i have the galaxy s3
Hi,
by avast, you mean Mobile Security, Anti-Theft, Backup or a combination of those?
Filip
well see, thats where im not sure. It only started happening after i purchased and installed the premium version of AMS (which includes AAT). Once i uninstalled mobile security, my phone worked fine. I reinstalled mobile security premium, and the problem came back
Well, AMS and AAT are different apps so you can install and uninstall them separately. I’d really want to know if the problem persist if you have only one of those two apps installed. Could you give it a go?
Filip
Done. I have to uninstall mobile security for the phone to work proper again
OK, so you set the phone to vibrate or complete silence? What notifications do you hear, for example? SMS?
Filip
I’m trying to be as clear as I can. I’m a techguy, not a n00b. ALL notification sounds come through while phone is on SILENT and VIBRATE.
It does not do it with avast mobile security uninstalled. it also does not do it if the mobile security IS installed as long as i dont enter the premium license.
SO, again
without mobile security installed- no problem. Audio “silent mode” works just fine
With mobile security installed- no problems. Audio “silent mode” works just fine
with mobile security installed+premium version activated-PROBLEM. Audio “silent mode” gives me a big middle finger
Like i said, this should be able to be easily replicated considering we now have it happening on four devices
GS3
GS4
Motorola Droid XT-904
HTC Evo 4G LTE
Im sure its a bug, something easily overlooked because lets face it… who the hell tests to see if their silent mode still works after developing an app? lol
Its gotta be that damn premium button
