Silent Mode turns itself off every boot

I am using Avast for years on my current computer, always in Silent Mode.

Since about 1 week ago, Silent Mode started to disable itself every time I boot my computer (I have to re-enable it and then it stays active until I stop the computer).

Is there an issue on my end or it this a bug in the latest Avast version?

Avast info:

  • Software version: 24.4.6112 (v24.4.9067.762)
  • Gui version: 1.0.803

Computer info:

  • Edition: Windows 11 Family
  • OS build: 22631.3447
  • Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22688.1000.0

Same here. Have always been able to set to silent mode and remain on silent mode even after a restart/reboot.

Windows 10 22H2 build: 19045.4291

Avast 24.4.6112 build 24.4.9067.762

Avast stated they found a bug and will fix it pertaining to this issue.

Apparantly now fixed. See: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=327386.msg1718559#msg1718559

Confirmation in this post.

Problem is still there for me…

Wait, did you need to do an actual reboot for it to work? Does a power down / power up not count as one?

I just did a proper reboot due to a Windows update yesterday and now it appears to work as intended…

After a program update it is best to do a system restart for changes to be applied/become effective.

Ordinarily you would get a notice to restart.
