I’ve been looking through the settings for a way to get Avast to update the virus database silently. I’ve tried everything that I know of and am unable to find the setting. What always happens is a window pops-up in the lower right and says that it’s been updated and to click here for more info. I don’t care for it to tell me that info, I just want it to keep me up-to-date. Great program guys. Thanks.
In this case, you’ll need to edit the avast4.ini file.
SuppressUpdatedInfo=0 in the [AAVM] section is your entry.
