I have recently installed latest avast endpoint protection suite plus on a companies server (windows server 2008 R2 standard) - when trying to finish the installation I get a browser page telling me to click here to install MS silverlight - after succesful installation message and refresh browser page message says “an add-on for this website failed to run”…
Any ideas please ??

wich browser are you using?
Remember you can use also firefox or Internet Explorer to access to SOA console.
I suggest to you also to remove from the add on the silverlight plugin, download here silverlight http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/, close the browser, install the package downloaded and the reopen the browser.
Hi, I have followed those steps but with no joy, using IE or firefox… still opens to “to view this content please install MS Silverlight” and still says an add-on for this website failed to run…
You’ve installed it with admin rights? Wich version of IE and Firefox are you running?
Check in add-on manager the status of silverlight plugin and enable it if necessary (see attached image)
Remember also you can connect from a client using a browser to SOA console using the correct adress
