Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to look at my post. I happened to be searching for a baby item to purchase when I clicked on a link that kept making my computer give me repeated warnings. I shut down the computer & turned it on again. Avast kept giving me repeated warnings that I had a virus. (12 total) Some strings I kept seeing said “win32/sirefef.an” and “win32/bitcoinminer” I never had a virus before so i’m worried they were able to get personal info. I’m also wondering how do I know if they are all removed from my computer? And what do I do with all 12 viruses that were found that are in the Virus Chest. Do I “Delete” or “Extract” them? I’m not sure if pressing delete would delete them from the Virus Chest and put them back on the computer or delete them from the computer all together. Thank you in advance for your help!
Please follow the steps here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
Then attach the logs in this thread
Here is from the malwarebytes
OTL attached
final scan attached
Is there anything else you need from me to be able to further assist me? I also have 12 contained viruses in my virus chest from this. They all look very similar to the other posters - lots of zeros and numbers at the end. Thank you.

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Notes:
- Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
- Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
- If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.
Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now
Thank you for writing back I appreciate your help! I wasn’t sure if I did something wrong. Do you know if this is the type of virus that could have stole my personal info?
As it stands at the moment Avast has stopped anything leaving your system, unless you do online betting you should be safe. But I will have a better handle on it once I see the other logs
OTL attached
Combo fix file. Took awhile!!! Hope that’s not bad.
How is the computer behaving now ?
It seems to be OK. Just nervous about doing anything I need to provide a password or personal info. Based on the logs I provided, does it seem like it removed everything? I still have 12 viruses shown in my Virus Chest. Should I delete them or just leave them?
You can delete those quite happily now
A final check … Does windows updates work, and are there any further problems
So far so good. There aren’t any updates available so I can’t test that. I can always update my post if I find anything doesn’t seem right. I truly appreciate all of your time and help!!! I can’t thank you enough!
The fact that you can access the windows site is as good as getting an update
Subject to no further problems ![]()
I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems
Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean ![]()

[*]Go to control panel
[*]Select folder options (Appearance > Folder options in category view)
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[]Click OK.
